Ashley Marketing Group ("Ashley Marketing Group", "I", "me") is a marketing business based in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, operated by Dave Ashley. This policy explains what personal information this website (ashleymarketinggroup.com) collects, why, and what your choices are. It is written to meet Canada'sPersonal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
1. Information I collect
Information you give me
When you fill out a form on this site, I collect what you choose to enter. Depending on the form, that can include:
- Your name and email address (required)
- Phone number, business name and website
- Business details such as number of staff, capacity to grow, business category, city and advertising budget
- Anything you write in the message field
Please don't include sensitive information (such as health or financial account details) in the form.
Information collected automatically
- Form submissions: when you submit a form, your IP address and the date and time are recorded with your message. Your IP address is also briefly used to block spam (repeat submissions).
- Google Analytics: this site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, how you arrived (for example, from a search or an ad), your general location (city/region level), and your device, browser and operating system. I see this information in aggregate reports and do not use it to identify you personally.
- Server logs: like most websites, the hosting provider automatically records standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and maintenance.
2. How I use your information
- To respond to your inquiry, application or sign-up and talk with you about my services
- To determine whether your business qualifies for an offer (for example, the Greater Moncton first-month-free offer or Local Exclusive availability)
- To provide services if you become a client, including invoicing and account communication
- To send you emails about free events or marketing information, only if you have given consent (see below)
- To understand how the website is used and improve it
- To protect the website from spam, abuse and security threats
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations
I only collect and use what is reasonably needed for these purposes. I do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
3. Emails and your consent
When you submit a form, you consent to me contacting you by email or phone about your inquiry. I will only add you to my email list if you check the box "Send me emails about free events and marketing tips" on the form. The box is never checked for you. If you check it, I may send you emails about free events, marketing tips, my services and offers. I keep a record of when you gave consent.
If you don't check the box, you will only receive emails about your inquiry.
In line with CASL, every marketing email I send will:
- Identify Ashley Marketing Group as the sender and include my contact information
- Include a simple way to unsubscribe
You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email or by emailingdave@ashleymarketinggroup.com. I will process your request within 10 business days. You may still receive non-marketing messages related to work you've asked me to do.
4. Cookies and Google Analytics
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site does not use its own advertising cookies; the cookies it uses are set by Google Analytics to measure traffic. Google processes this data according toGoogle's Privacy Policy. You can learn more atHow Google uses information from sites that use its services.
You can limit or refuse this tracking by:
- Installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
- Blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings
- Using your browser's "Do Not Track" or private browsing features, or a content blocker
The site will continue to work normally if you block cookies.
This site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with Google when pages load.
5. Who I share information with
I share personal information only with service providers that help me run this website and business, and only as needed:
- Website hosting and email providers, which store the website and deliver form submissions and emails
- Google (Google Analytics and Google Fonts), as described above
- An email marketing service, if I use one to send marketing emails to people who have consented
- Professional advisors such as an accountant or lawyer, where needed
I may also disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a court order, or to protect the rights, property or safety of my business or others. If the business were sold or merged, personal information could be transferred to the new owner, who would be bound by this policy.
6. Where your information is stored
Some of my service providers, including Google, may store and process information outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, your information is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities. I choose providers that use reasonable safeguards to protect your information.
7. How long I keep it
- Inquiries that don't lead to work together: up to 2 years, then deleted
- Client records: as long as you are a client, plus up to 7 years to meet Canadian tax and accounting requirements
- Marketing email lists: until you unsubscribe (I keep a record of the unsubscribe so you aren't emailed again)
- Google Analytics data: retained according to the site's Google Analytics settings, up to 14 months
8. How I protect it
I use reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including secure (HTTPS) connections, password-protected accounts and limiting access to myself and service providers that need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but I take protecting your information seriously. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, I will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by law.
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask what personal information I hold about you and how it has been used and shared
- Ask me to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Withdraw your consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions
- Ask me to delete your information, unless I need to keep it for legal reasons
- Complain about how your information is handled
To make a request, email dave@ashleymarketinggroup.com. I may need to confirm your identity first, and I will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.
If you're located outside Canada (for example, in Quebec, the European Union, the United Kingdom or a U.S. state with its own privacy law), you may have additional rights under local law, such as data portability or the right to object to processing. Contact me and I will honour those rights as they apply.
10. Children
This website and my services are intended for businesses and adults. I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent me information, contact me and I will delete it.

This site may link to other websites. I'm not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies.
